17-year-old boy drowns in Kano

Lurwanu Suleiman, a 17-year-old boy drowned in a pond in Dandalama village, located in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday, by its Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.

According to the statement, the drowning occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

“We received an emergency call from Malam Aminu Dandalama at about 12:54 p.m. on Tuesday.

“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 1:25 p.m.,” Abdullahi said.

He explained that Suleiman was recovered from the water lifeless and his body was handed over to the Ward Head of Dandalama village, Alhaji Safiyan Usman.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, the agency said.
